Darwin Wildlife Sanctuary has already engaged with many schools around Darwin and worked with over 3000 young people over the last 5 years.
We now offer both incursion and excursion options for any school between Darwin City and Berry Springs.
Incursions in class
These sessions can be specifically tailored to include any environmental topics that your class might be studying.
The sessions include a 1/2hr talk on anything from biodiversity in schools, wildlife in urban areas to feral animal control and climate change and 1/2 hr of animal engagement and photo opportunities.
Cost
1 presenter + 2 critters (up to 15 students) = $100/hr
2 presenters + 2 critters (up to 30 students = $180/hr
2 presenters + 4 critters (up to 40 students) = $200/ 1 1/2 hrs
Excursions offered
Darwin Wildlife Sanctuary: $250/2hrs up to 15 students
Includes: Tour of the rehabilitation enclosures and current animals in care, help with food preparation and feeding the wildlife in care, 20min presentation on local wildlife and how to get injured wildlife help, reptile handling experience for all students
ALL OTHER EXCURSIONS COST: $250/1hrs for up to 15 students & includes a talk and activity sheet on the following habitats and ecosystems. Schools must organise their own transport to the desired location.
